Episode 42 - Summer Beers

We are going to be hanging Brandon Edwards, and crushing some "summer beers". Summer beers are technically not a specific style, but are the beers or beverages that you reach for when you are planning to mow the lawn, spend the day at the beach, or just relax on the deck while enjoying a beautiful Michigan summer! So grab an Oberon, an All Day, a Shandy, or even a six pack of seltzer, and come hang out with us!

Episode 41 - Misc. Beer Talk and State of the Show

We continue to talk beer, homebrewing, and whatever else happens to come up. This show's topic is open ended, so basically a whole episode where we go off topic because...there isn't one. It'll be a blast as always! Beyond the beer talk we'll talk some about future plans for the show including breweries / people we hope to be talking to later this year, plans to be on popular podcasting services, the ever-promised new opening, and all sorts of other stuff.

Episode 40 - Kalamazoo LIbation Organization of Brewers (KLOB)

We talk to homebrew club officers Bryon Vlier and Drew Hutchison from Kalamazoo's oldest homebrew club, KLOB.

Episode 39 - Five Shores Brewing with Ellie Maddelein

We talk with Ellie Maddelein, Assistant Brewer at Five Shores Brewing and a graduate of WMU's Sustainable Brewing program.

Episode 38 - Really Old Beer

We are going to have a very special show this week. With the help of our special guest, David Jones, we will be tasting some of the aged Bell's beer that we were able to pick up from "Larry's Cellar" at Bell's General Store. We are going to be sampling Expedition Stout from 1994, 95, and 96, as well as 2004, 07, 08, and 09. We also have some early 2000's Eccentric Ale and Cherry Stout that we may get into. So dig in your cellar, blow the dust off of something you have been saving and join us as we try some beer that's old enough to buy beer!

Episode 37 - Making Your Best Mead (pt. 1?)

We talk about best practices for making mead from the comfort of your own home. We'll touch on a lot of introductory topics like water, honey varietals, nutrients, yeast choice and so on. Depending on how it goes we may make it a multi part series where we go into different styles of mead in later episodes like big sugary Schramm's style mead, or bubbly refreshing session meads. Skål!

Episode 36 - Talking Beer and Malt with John Mallett

We hang out with John Mallett, VP of Operations at Bell's Brewery, and literally the guy that wrote the book on Malt (pick up the Brewing Elements book, it's seriously great). John has had a long career in the beer industry doing everything from brewing, to engineering, to teaching, and operations work. And obviously also writing! Join us as we pick his brain and, as always, just have a great time hanging out!

Episode 35 - Stormcloud Brewing Company

We hang out with Brian Confer, Co-Owner/Head Brewer and Chris Schnepf, Lead Brewer at Stormcloud Brewing Company in Frankfort Michigan. We will be sampling some of their Belgian inspired beers and getting to know more about this awesome northern Michigan brewery.

Episode 34 - Homebrew Review - Livingston Social Brew Club Edition

Hey folks are are back again with another Homebrew Review show! We are going to be trying a few beers and a mead donated by Kevin Penn and James Hancock of Livingston Social Brew Club... And we will do our best to tell you what we think :) Please remember we are by no means certified to officially taste beer in any capacity, and our feed back is strictly for entertainment purposes only. Episode 33 - Chill Drinking and What We Learned in 2020

It's another Monday! We're still organizing a Homebrew Review for 2/22/21, but in the meantime just want to have a chill night with ya'll. We've had a lot of guests on lately (which has been amazing!) but want to just step back a sec and talk about what we learned as brewers over the last year. But of course we don't want it to be all about us. We want to hear how all of you feel like you've grown too. Let's talk homebrew, wine, mead, etc. and just have an awesome Monday night together.
